Desiree was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She graduated from Northwestern High School, attended Towson Stafford Business School and Morgan State University. She retired in November of 2023 after a wonderful, professional, and fulfilling career.

This book marks her first venture into authorship, a journey inspired by LaDonna Stanley-Thompson and the profound experiences she has. Her qualifications to write her story stem from a personal place, having been diagnosed with cancer three times. Each diagnosis brought its own set of challenges, but also profound lessons and insights.

Desiree's love for the Lord has been a pillar of strength throughout her life and significant throughout this process. It was these experiences that gave her a newfound perspective on faith and love.

 

Through prayer and spiritual reflection, she has discovered a deeper purpose and meaning. The collective prayers of her family, friends, and even strangers have been a beacon of hope, illuminating the dark moments and guiding her toward the light. It was through these prayers that she found the courage to face each day with renewed determination. The power of prayer has been a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the strength that comes from being part of a loving and supportive community.

 

As she reflects on her journey, she is grateful for the outpouring of prayers and the impact they had on her life. It is through the kindness and compassion of others that she has been able to navigate the challenges faced while battling cancer.
