DeWayne Perry

DeWayne Perry is a native Washingtonian who grew up in the far southwest area of the city. Born to James and Donna Perry in 1967, he was educated in the District of Columbia School System. Following graduation from FW Ballou high School in 1984 he attended the Lincoln Technical Institute studying Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC). After successfully completing this training, he became employed by the Federal Government where he served for 38 years with the General Services Administration, The Smithsonian, The National Park Service and The Federal Housing Finance Agency. DeWayne retired from federal service in December of 2023 but, he continues to operate a small HVAC business which he has owned and operated for over 30 years.

DeWayne has been married for 35 years to his wife Shelia and they have two beautiful daughters, Alexandra (30) and Drew (25). He also serves faithfully at the Ft Washington Baptist Church in Ft Washington Maryland where he serves as an ordained deacon, musician, choir member and Sunday School teacher. When not working or serving in church, he enjoys the outdoors, music, sports, fishing, hunting, boating and riding his motorcycle.
